Cuchara Inn, where Spirit meets Tranquility
The Cuchara Inn was built in the 1980’s to service the (then) Cuchara Mountain Ski Resort. The complex has taken on many incarnations since then, and the hundreds of “family guests” who visited (and continue to visit) have just as many stories to tell about the inn’s history.
In December of 2015, Scott and Dani Lynch bought the inn and have continued in Barb and Eddy’s footsteps. They have focused on the lobby area, taking down the dividing walls to create a large, open “Great Room” with a rustic ski lodge feel. The new lobby contains a four-sided stone fireplace, many comfortable areas to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book from the bookstore or lending library, surf the net, have a great breakfast, lunch or dinner from The Cuchara Inn Café (open year-round from 8am-10pm), or just take a break from a busy day. The incredible new grand staircase, designed and built from local forests by local artisan Steve Palmer, stops all newcomers in their tracks! (We are actually the only hotel in America with a functioning tree swing!)
The Cuchara Inn will continue to expand our Wellness Program for individuals with chronic illnesses and their caregivers. We are constantly researching new trials, protocols and studies performed all over the world with great success, and bringing that knowledge to those who come to Cuchara to learn what options exist. Our Alzheimer’s Disease and Cancer Protocols have helped to extend and significantly improve the lives of those battling chronic and terminal illness.
The inn is extremely pet-friendly, and no fees are imposed on our four-legged family members. As a matter-of-fact, the inn’s cat “Rosie” just may try to talk you into letting her sleep with you at night! Don’t worry – she is hypoallergenic – so you can cuddle a kitty at the inn without fear of allergies!
We are excited to meet our new visitors and grateful to welcome our returning guests! Whether you stay with us or elsewhere, please add The Cuchara Inn to your itinerary!
